Create layered gel prints with collage that's built into the print itself.
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:
Understand the basic idea behind Chine Collé Choose collage papers that work well with gel printing Use translucent collage paper in a layered print Use opaque collage paper in a second print Position and adhere the paper during the printing process Troubleshoot as you work Create two completed Chine Collé gel prints
Learn how to incorporate collage papers directly into your gel prints.
Have you ever wanted to combine collage with gel printing without simply gluing paper onto the finished print?
In this focused workshop, I’ll show you how to adapt the traditional printmaking technique of Chine Collé for the gel plate.
You’ll create layered prints in which the collage paper becomes part of the printing process itself.
You’ll see how both translucent and opaque papers behave, and how each creates a different effect inside the finished print.
What’s included
Two step-by-step video lessons
One demonstration using translucent collage paper
One demonstration using opaque collage paper
Lifetime access to the workshop
Closed captions
No previous experience with Chine Collé is required. If you’re comfortable using a gel plate, you’re ready to begin.
Why try Chine Collé?
Chine Collé adds another layer of possibility to gel printing. Instead of treating collage as something added afterward, you’ll learn how to integrate paper into the print itself.
The result is a surface with more depth, texture, and visual interest, while still preserving the layered quality that makes gel printing so appealing.
This workshop is a good fit if:
You enjoy gel printing and want to try a new technique
You love collage and paper
You want to create more layered, frame-worthy prints
You’re curious about traditional printmaking methods
You prefer a focused workshop you can complete without committing to a long course
