What if I don't have a 5Ă—7 gel plate?
To create your own registration system for a different plate size, start with paper that matches your project size. Draw a rectangle the size of your gel plate centered on the page. Use the same size paper for your registration base, for all stencil templates and for any printer paper versions. So everything aligns. Draw the plate-sized rectangle centered on each page. On the registration base, place a small reference X in the upper left corner. On each stencil template, add a matching reference X in the upper right corner. These X's are just reference points to help you bring the stencil down in the same place on the registration base every time. They're not alignment targets themselves. Once you've made these masters save them. Photocopy or print as many as you need. Just keep the same size paper and layout so the registration stays consistent.
